Hope you do not mind I said this. In view of what happen a few months back when you were rob in the ZH hotel, your agent is not a very good agent as he cannot help you at all. A good agent must be in a position to help his clients if thing goes wrong. Quote:

It is ok if we have different expectation and opinion of what is expected of a "good" agent in this type of incident. Below is copied from the internet about a similar incident@ lucky hotel CP. I am not trying to promote any agent here, but good agent should have some leverage on the establishment ie the hotel.
But you are right, I do not know the agent and is not in a good position to pass this opinion/comment about him. I should restricted my comment to the specific incident only. I take note of my error and will try to improve ok? hahhaI believe we both have posted the comments in good faith and without any malice; nevertheless some who are 'pang tang' or superstitious may find your last para 刺耳; Hence I wish You and Everyone here good luck and good health, and none will ever need help on these matters. bro coolmanks,
it is ok, i dont get a single cent helping out the brothers here. just giving some information as my gf is a tour guide. hotel booking prices are very transparent in zhuhai, and hence have very low margin, so dont expect lots of service here, especially since the numbers of room booked are usually low compared to tour groups. i have asked her to concentrate on doing golf packages instead where she is more familiar and usually have a higher margin where her forte of providing excellent service can be put to better use. i got zapped many times when i ask ppl to give tips, note: tipping is a very common practise in china, where if the service provided to you are really good, you tip. It is hard to explain this here as most singaporean has taken good service for granted and like to complain when good service are not provided. IMHO , in china, if you got money, you get good service. Cheers, Shui

Maybe I am too demanding.....but to me a good agent must be more than just efficient in the booking. When incident happened, his client needed help, he must help and be able to help. If he is not bother at all ...then he is really BAD. From what you posted, he tried very hard to help so he is ok at least. But he does seen fairly helpless, meaning he has no leverage or at least know how to talk to the hotel mgt to get thing done. Same for the gongan; he has no relationship or know how to deal with them. Even our new agent in CP know the important of developing contact with the Gongan. During my last trip he very casually mentioned that he just meet or have a meal with them. And the above are only my personal opinion. Ok ....back to TCSS again...... Quote:

Thanks for reminding me that China is somewhat like discount airline...prices are low; but don t expect lots of service........ And your ideas of concentrating on Golf group is a good idea..... Upon retrunring to my hotel room at ard 10pm .. i realise my room was broken into and my notebook was missing ... fear immediately invaded me and i rush to check the room safe box ... fortunately it was not broken into ... call the front desk and report the incident ... some security guards and a manager came to my room to inspect ... they then check the hotel security camera in the security guard room situated at the side of the hotel ... after viewing through the video, we saw 2 men went into my room empty handed and after abt 7 minutes later, exited the room carrying my notebook covered with the laundry bag and putting into a lady accomplice who was waiting at the lift lobby .... all these in clear view from the security camera .. upon further viewing the security tape, we realise the lady accomplice was loitering in the hallway corridor earlier for a few minutes trying to break into the hotel rooms ... she tried a few rooms but didn't manage to get in ...mine was the unfortunate one ... the hotel reported to gong an and though the police station was a 5 minutes walk to the hotel, it took them more then an hour to be there ... dressed like some thugs and wear slippers ... they dun look any bit like a policeman ... it's big embarassment to the Chinese Police ... my hotel room have no sign of force break-in ... which means the theives managed to get into my room using similiar hotel room card ... OK ... to make the story short ... we immediately check out the hotel and check in to Charming Hotel ... This is unbelievable ... but believe it .... The hotel have deny all responsibilities regarding the break-in ... they stated that the thieves uses high technology to break into my room and thus we cannot blamed the hotel for negilience .... They refused any compensation to me .... but offer me a few FREE night stay in the hotel .... WTF, do u think i will want to stay in this hotel again ?? my colleagues said this gotta to be a inside job .... they even bring up the subject that the hotel could be a 黑店 ... how can the security guards missed seeing the lady thief loitering along the hallway corridor going from door to door ??? And no hotel will deny responsibilities for such a incident ... but this hotel gracefully and conveniently did ...and without any remorse ... I believe it is the hotel responsibilities to protect their guests ... Thus i would advise all not to stay in this hotel for ur sake ... i cannot imagine if they were to break into my room while i was sleeping in the middle of the nite if i forgot to latch from the inside ... 珠海国泰酒店不可住
