Nowsadays customer spoilt for choice hard to please and are very fickle-minded all like to vote with their feet.....today's IN place could be passe tomorrow just like that.

This thread only 3 months old.....last I read all the 'loyal' customers were still singing the joint's praises......so fast discard the place? downturn already? Hope it doesn't close down like you guys predicted......will drop by for a visit soon but I can do much as I am not a big spender and I dun go so often anyways. Cheers!

Just a theoratical business plan for a small pub. I am not in this biz, just a simple brain excercise for purely discussion sake:-

A) Monthly Overheads:-

B) Conservative Estimates for Gross Profit

2. Operation hrs................= 8hrs..................(4pm to 1am)
3. Daily turnover rate.........= 136 persons.......( 34tables X 2men/4hr operation)
4. Beers/Person/4hrs..........= 1 jug
5. Total Jugs/day..............=136 jugs.............(68men X 2 shifts)
6. Total earnings...............=$ 4,080/night......( 136jugs X $30/jug)
7. Cost Price for jugs.........=$ 816...............(136jugs X $6/jug)
8. Gross Profit/night...........=$ 3,264.............($4,080 - $816)
9. Gross Profit/30days....=$97,920 .....($122,400 - $24,480)



C) Net Profit

D) Considerations

1. A budget of $34,000 for 17 GRO is set aside. Locals may not want this kind of jobs, thus the next alternative may be to find 'tourists'. Singapore is a lawful society as well as a tourism hub. Perhaps an agent be sent to find international lonely females who would like to visit our city, spend money here and meet men temporarily would be arranged.

There is no women discrimination practised in Singapore. All genders are equal in the eyes of our constitutional law.

If male tourists and male foriegn talents are allowed to visit nightlife spots, befriend our singaporean females, buy them drinks or give them tips, money, whether they are ordinary citizens or WLs, then it is within the law that females and female tourists can visit such places as well, without fear or discrimation or interruption by any civil servant authority.

2. There will be a neccesity to be familiar with the bearucratic requirements to set up a pub as well as on the ground 'guan xi' to operate.

3. Marketing will be through 'word of mouth' networking and promotions.

4. Must have sufficient funds to maintain overheads for 6 months = $390,000

5. Renovation cost may be in the region of $150,000 including stage equipment.

Would an investor be keen to invest in a pub or takeover I-Barr on this idea? Just a thought. My figures are purely theoratical, and may be wrong, though as close to market rates as possible.

2 of the band members mentioned they are paid leh..guess that is misunderstandings. my favorite GRO said it seems it is the agents having issues with gros not the club. apa la....all wrong and mixed information??

I was at I-Barr that day...everything seems normal

Yes - some staff has left (but there are new staff to cater to us)

Band is still around and i speak to them regularly..all is in order so far, based on what they told me.

Not much GROs but i did pitched before that it was not really a pull factor, especially for regulars like me as i enjoy the band and the alcohol more

For people whom have no patronised, kindly don't be judgemental...do drop by and cast your own observations. At this point of time...we customers do not feel anything yet, drinks are still being served - band is still functioning. We are not being short changed in any manner...we let I-Barr deal with their internal problems, we don't speculate on their behalf

Yup, Latest info of today... Band changing in mid to late april... And no more THAI GROs... They will be switching to PRCs.. PRCs lovers take note

The bosses actually treated the band very well however some of them have no sense of appreciation.. Pay late by 4, 5 days.. Kpkb to all customers.. These ppl really have no sense of loyalty.. They are the highest paid band in thai clubs of sg.. Yet, they still have complains.. With tat type of pay.. They could even get william scorpion in...

Afterview, its good for a change to the club and i hope those regulars would continue to show their support!!

Time for a change , though the band is i never really liked the band members except for one or 2 of the guys there. The ladies are really lookers but they arent my cup of tea from the beginning.

anyway Just rediscovered a "gem" back in TD1 today ......not sure real or fake
and went to the "dungeon" ohh now i see why some pple Really like the dungeon more than Up in "heaven"

Well if the info provided by bro hako is true, then i guess there'll be one less joint to listen to live thai music. Not that the band plays that much thai music anyway. Just got back from Bangkok recently and still suffering from withdrawal symptons.
