I have been to quite a few hfj in China, but have never been to one in Singapore. Maybe you can share how the HFJ operate in China ?
I have been to 4 in total (2 of them the same management) and the operation is similar.
1. Opens from 2000h to 0100h.
2. Flowers from RMB100 to RMB1800 or even more - crazy rich businessmen with nowhere to launder their money dump them here.
3. Each girl has a target - the ones I went to need 3 table bookings (RMB300 each) and not sure how many flowers every 10 days. Turnover is extremely high in this cutthroat industry. The 80/20 rule applies a lot - 80% of the money goes to 20% of the girls.
4. An MC/manager arranges for the girls to take turns to sing. I have never come across the 排排唱 in Shanghai. The MC/manager will sing too, and occasionally gives some banter and dirty jokes (like those Taiwanese variety shows).
5. Some joints have dances (including this curtain/rope dance thing where the dancer will "fly") as well as singing.
I enjoy the atmosphere, especially since I am on good terms with the manager of the joint I frequent. Unfortunately, I am just a salaried man with a family to feed, unlike those 大老板 who dump RMB like nobody's business. I probably go once or twice a month.
If any of you pops by Shanghai and are interested in drinks, let me know. I am a person who likes to meet new people all the time.
