actually i stil go back to GM ler... still go to DAG.. my.. errm.. homeground.. started chiongin thai joints frm dat place ler.. n so used to it there aldy.. hehehe.. but sometimes juz like to wander ard the thai joints in sg... least can get change of scenery(the galz ler)... heheheh...

Last nite, there was also a group of WLs from L8 partyin in Thai Disco ... they moved from Thai Disco to Thai Disco 2 later in the nite ... Those gals were pretty wild and havin a fun time dancing on the platform meant for the dancers ... In my opinion, some of the WLs look much better than the current stock at both Thai Disco 1 & 2 ... haiz ...

I beg to differ ... Though I am unsure of how the other thai joints are faring at the moment ... Thai Disco 1 & 2 have certainly seen a drastic drop in biz ...

I can still remember abt a year ago ... If u stepped into TD1 or 2 without any table reservations after 11pm, u will have trouble gettin urself a table for the nite ... However, these days ... the place are so empty during the weekdays ... onli Fri and Sat are slightly better ... not even fully packed like it used to be ...

It seems like the glory days of Thai Disco 1 & 2 is a thing of the past ... Perhaps just in time for the en bloc sale to take over Golden Mile ... haiz ...

In my opinion, everyone likes things that are new ... So one cant expect the customers to keep buying LDs for the same lady when she comes every alternate month??? ...

But if he fails to succeed in picking her up after the 1st attempt when he sees her and on the 2nd attempt on her next trip ... It is onli natural for him to move on to new targets ... So this lady cant expect drinks from him no more on her subsequent visits ...

But if this guy does succeed in gettin together with the lady ... Likewise, the lady cant expect her guy to be buyin her heaps of LDs every nite when she is in town ... That defeats the purpose of being her teerak, rite??? ...

Hence, to see a pick up in biz ... The lady may have to seek greener pastures ... and Thai Disco will have to stop having so much recycled stock as that will onli bore the regulars into goin back again and again ...

Back to topic...now many club operators jumping on the band wagon after seeing TDs success.......there will be a major shakedown soon as competition getting intense as all the joints going after the same pool of thai scene cheongsters......i see many joints are now swatting flies liao, see how long it last.....onli the big boys got the financial power to sustain & unless some other operators hit on a new winning formula for this niche market.....if not it is surivial of the best & fittest

market correction is on the horizon.

But ultimately I assume say Golden mile TD1/2 and Dag thai will survive the crunch, En bloc rumours or not.

After trying out some other places with similar themes ,even if they have more or better quality gals. which is just a temporary phenomenon, GM TDs will still have that edge.

I agree.....hope we dun see bosss run road ala IBar Pity the staff when that happens.....

TDs have always been quick to adapt to the competition......recent Clash concert is one good example.....i believe they will gain back their lost market share in no time. Infact i forsee all 4 GM discos will survive the crunch....they have the edge of being in mini thailand

There may be many other thai joints springing out but thai joints in GM still hold the edge.
New joints can pull the crowd in but to sustain the crowd is no easy feat.
Crowds are always attracted by new joints.
Personally have been to NaNa once.Find that it's very nicely do up and very big floor area.Reached there 10 plus on Friday nite but find it not very crowded. The atomsphere cannot be compared as TD1 or TD2.
Maybe over time NaNa can do better but for now GM joints are better choices.

Bingo! thats the formula it s sustaining the crowd , that is the key.


To maintain and sustain your regular core of customer. It may not be just the Band ( remember iBarr??) , the Gals (e.g. Icon , Royal) or the Joint decor itself that pulls crowds in. It is a balance of reasonable drink pricing , Good band, and sufficient no. of gals that can sustain and put the GM discos on top of this newly formed league table of thai-oriented pubs.

Only time will tell , So far in terms of potential only 2 joints at this moment has the potential to sustain and keep at the heels of TD joints.
