We got into bed and she fell asleep soon after while I held her in my arms. I was deep in thought about what I should do as I’m rather confused about how I should proceed because I’ve made the biggest mistake in an affair, and that is to get emotionally involved and deeply in love with her.
Without realizing it, my body finally shut down due to pure exhaustion and I fell into deep sleep. I awoke to find her already awake, dressed only in her panties, and working on her notebook… “baby, how come you are up so early?” “ Oh..good morning, I’m online with my boss and reporting all that we have concluded here to him. It’s still rather early, why dun you sleep for a while more?” “No…I’m ok…I never had the habit of lazing in bed anyway….I guess I’ll go take a dump and wash up…..” With that, I got out of bed and walked over to the toilet after I lit a cigarette. (Now, that’s another ritual where I definitely need to smoke while taking a dump, wherever it’s allowed of course) After washing up and giving her a quickie to satisfy her craving from last night, we got out and took a cab to a dimsum place for breakfast Sorry can’t remember the road name already’and to also meet one of my bro who had been posted here for about 5 years. After breakfast, my bro decided to bring us around to tour shanghai as a tourist. We went to a nice temple, where there was jade Buddha and after making some offerings and prayers. We went shopping near THE BUND and after some shopping, we proceeded back to the hotel to ‘rest’ after agreeing to meet my bro for dinner and drinks later.

As agreed, after some much needed rest, we got into a cab from our hotel to meet my bro who was bringing us to a restaurant in the Pudong area to have steamboat. As we got there, I paid the cab fare and we walked into a very crowded and noisy restaurant and found him in a corner sipping his bottle of Budweiser.
“Yo bro, no problems coming here after I spoke to the cab driver right?” He asked. “No problems, your directions so precise and he followed your precise directions after going thru the tunnel…..anyway, let’s order and eat…I’m rather famished already.” He ordered some very interesting dishes and one of my favourites has to be the small river prawns that were super sweet and tender. We washed down our dinner with more Budweiser beer and we also ate the food with white rice (something I haven’t had for quite a while as the other business dinner area ll so extravagant and only dishes and cannot order rice or else the host thinks the food not enough). During dinner, my bro received an urgent call from his office saying there are some problems and he immediately rushed off after apologizing and said he will join us later for drinks once he finishes at the office. After dinner, I decided to bring her to Xin Tian Di where there are quite a few nice pricey bars with more expats. We hopped into a cab and after telling the cab driver where we wanted to go, she snuggled up to me and we shared a small kiss and she just lay her head on my shoulder and just remained content just lying there and watching the night scene as the cab drove towards Xin Tian Di. As we got there, the place was rather crowded with diners and drinkers. After walking around the entire place, we decided on Paulaner for some German beer and we just sat there watching all the different mix of people from the different continents mixing together chatting and laughing. “Baby, what do you think about us? What do you think we can achieve?” She asked me and I was rather taken aback replied “Well…..er….dun you think what we have at the moment is pretty nice?” I know it was a lame reply but I really couldn’t figure out what to say yet. “NO! It’s not nice cos when we go back home, I will be left with the thoughts of you sleeping with another woman…!!!”

After being stunned for a minute or so, I snapped into reality and held her hand and said “Baby, listen to me. You know from my actions that I truly love you BUT we’ve had this conversation before and I do not want to repeat myself again. I will not divorce my wife because of my daughter and also because she stuck with me and suffered along with me while I was struggling and building up my businesses.”
