I agree with you, going to Bangkok during Songkran holidays is a bad mistake. I don't want strangers throwing water or smearing powders on my face. I've heard Thais purposely throw dirty and ice cold water at you. If they throw water or smear powder at me, I don't give a shit, I'm going to punch their faces or kick their nuts! Especially when I had lasik eye surgery!

My friends in Bangkok and Pattaya usually go to Cambodia, Vietnam or China during Songkran days. I don't blame them, when I retire in Bangkok, during Songkran, I will be visiting Singapore!

I need help. My thai tirak told me 030307 is macha day. I will be there from 3/3/07-6/3/07..However heard bar will be closed on macha day. Not sure whether 040307(sun) and 050307(Mon) will be closed or not.

Because its a holy holiday and heard mon is a subsitute holiday..Need confirmation from bros here

Normally if major holidays(King or queen's birthday, Buddhist related holiday), the pubs and bars will be closed as they are not allow to sell any alcohol. If you like to drink, then buy a bottle at the Duty-free when arriving and drink with some of the kakis in the hotel. For gers, then make some arrangement before the holiday itself to avoid dissapointment.

Aiyah bro, dun need to worry too much lah. Been there last Songkran. The water throwing is not that bad lah. In fact, throughout the 5 days there, we saw alot of people playing with water but they will not target u unless u fool around with them. We only kana water inside one of the G Clubs when celebrating on the actual day and it is kinda of fun.

Any1 coming on the 3-5 March, please be informed. This day is a HOLY DAY, all joints from big to small till very small will be closed. They are not allowed to sell liquor.

So any1 planning to come, buy ur own liquor, plan n call ur own ladies if u have. If not..... then have to PCC or ask friends girl to get for u. U can only club in the hotel rooms.
