An update on my saga.

Exchanged a few smses with my girl and had a long conversation with her over the phone today. To cut the long story short, she questioned whether I really intended to meet her in Chongqing or whether I am just lying to her. I told her that I had in fact made reservations at the Chongqing Hilton, which was a fact, but cancelled my reservations today, which is also a fact. She can verify with the hotel if she wants to. Too bad I deleted the email with the booking confirmation number otherwise can simply give her the confirmation number and ask her to check with the hotel directly.

Moral of the story; better be prepared for everything and make sure that you have circumstantial evidence to corroborate your story. The problem most WLs face is that they do not plan their strategies well enough and if the bros are sufficiently clear minded, most of the WLs' stories cannot withstand careful scrutiny.

Regardless what they say, if you probe further, gather the answers they gave, take a step back and examine the answers objectively, the picture will ultimately become clearer.

Despite the phone call and smses, I am still not going over to Chongqing. Actually after talking to her, somehow I am more convinced that the decision not to see her in Chongqing is the right decision. Otherwise, when I see myself in the mirror next time, I will see a carrot head looking back at me.

Thankfully applying for a visa is quite a hassle to me otherwise the risk of my doing something stupid on impulse is much higher.

Sorry bro, I am not sure I understand what you are trying to say here. Are you suggesting that I should go there, meet up with her and terminate this face to face?

Anyway I told her last night that one of the reasons why I decided against going over was because I felt that the relationship was one sided. All of a sudden, the tone of her smses changed, with quite a bit more KC, which is something that never happened before. I was actually quite irritated by that. In my mind I thought damn it, now that you realise that the big fish is getting away then you start putting the bait and casting your line. A tad bit too late.

In a sense I kind of regret telling her some of the things I thought about her. In her quiet moments, if she is smart enough, she will be able to reflect on where her strategies went wrong and devise a better strategy in future. The poor bloke who is going to step into my shoes in future will have a tougher time.
