The problem is that to get a WL to even begin to like you is already very difficult. Throwing money at them to show them that you are able to take care of them is actually a very stupid way of telling them straight that you are a rich carrot that they can chop...

But sadly in my years of cheonging KTVs and HFJs before I retired, I saw many of my cheong buddies doing exactly that and most ended up with only short term relationships with the WLs they were trying to KC and there was 1 who actually spent a lot of money on his gal until he went bankrupt during the financial crisis.
