Heard from a friend who went to DC on Friday night. One singer got 30K for her birthday. Looks like business is not too bad after all.

Well, did go there a couple of times and hanged some small flowers. But was disappointed and lost interest in the whole hanging-flower thing. Mediocre singers got tons of flowers for whatever reason, while real talent saw little reward.

Is it not the same everywhere in life? How often do we see real talent being rewarded sufficiently. Thought they already taught in school, 'its not what you know but who you know that matters' This statement goes a long way....

Yeah, I know, you're absolutely right.

I should add though, what is more disappointing is to see those few real talents struggle-for a while-against forces that bend them against their integrity, and yet, finally cave in to become just another ang pai, available to the highest bidder. This destruction of character is more saddening than the glorification of mediocracy.

Well, maybe this kind of drama is actually what made these joints interesting in the first place.

as for flower king... well there are a few around the most famous is hai ke, da yen chen.. etc. these people are known around the hang flower world because they can spend continuous 5-6K a day for 7 days a week,30 days a month they usually visit a different KTV everynite, and avoid those extremely high class place because they want to stay low profile. and they always use cash. plus every now and then they will set a record of 40-100K. I am still wondering where they get the money.

As what have being mentioned, DC is one big dye tank (chinese saying), it will be difficult to see all their peers so successful and they have to struggle to make ends meet. Real life and fairy tales are always two different things. Guess (At least I hope so) that smaller places are not as pratical and therefore the gap between the two is less obvious.

Dont agree that the way to avoid it, is to stop hanging flowers or worse to avoid going to the place. If we have to do that, we can stay at home liao, unequality happens everywhere, in school, at work or even at home! Did I just say stay at home??!! See those big brothers in action and learn lor, maybe one day we can also throw those kind of money, then I think we will feel less unjust

Why must hang flower? If you start with the intention of hanging flower, why start? Does it mean you can't move on if you dun hang flower? If that's the case, then it's time for some serious de-flowering ...
