Singapore Driving License is recognized in many countries. But, to avoid potential administrative issues, many people apply for International Driving Permit from AAA.

Fat girl shop still remain at 9830/SGD like yesterday at evening around 1015am Batam time. Changed S$102,hehehe...i overspent quite a bit in this trip...

Maybe noon time today could be better (my guess) ,but yahoo finance is now at 9790/SGD....i may guess wrongly.

Yes, that's right. But as the IDP is not expensive, I would get one to prevent any sort of 'Murphy's Law" moment.

the question is why waste time to get a international driving licence, when you know that our licence is valid in most countries except you also travel to those that do not accept our driving licence. most countries that do not accept our licence are also left hand drive in which i don't even want to drive.

Even with international driving licence 'Murphy's Law" moment can happen. They will try to said they don't understand what is written.

I am talking base on my experience, more then 10 years of travelling to almost all major islands in indonesia. When stop by any police or govt. agency, I just provided my local license and if anyone try to be funny, I just show them hard copy of the following.

For your info. the second link is a presidential order by suharto and this order can only be withdraw by the sitting president, Not by any agency or the transport minister. And this is in bahasa indonesia.

My whole trip in Sept was nearly spoilt by this event in Formosa Hotel.

..and event has been extended till next week. So getting a room was relatively quite tough (till nearly end of Sept).

But there was blessing as well. And i got a free room upgrade.

...and my Gold membership card,finally.

Apparently, nobody here is worried because lots of people in Indonesia drives "wild" and without insurance? Am I the only one??
If I own the car I am driving and someone hits me, in many cases there will be ZERO chance to get a refund. More than the standard "maintaining cost".
