Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Yes but I thought he was nearer to the era of Spice boys?
How about Lee Jones? The striker who is supposed to be the next who-and-who but end up on the treatment table more than the scoring charts.. Another Jones? Rob Jones? Cant understand why he wasnt an England regular back then... Neil Ruddock, whom report for pre season overweight without fail...

Rob Jones was in the England squad wasn't he? Although injuries decimated his career. |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
new away will look nice with gold letter and number Champions 19 heh.
I remember Lee Jones cos his ears quite big lol Rob Jones was class, we were very unlucky when it came to full backs and injuries. Another fave of mine was Vegard Heggem who was superb whenever he played and scored fantastic goals though rarely. |

Yes we were very unlucky, especially Jamie Redknapp.. He was my top fave during the spice boys time.. Had he not been so unlucky with injuries, he should have gone on and be England Captain...

yes Redknapp was another one, will remember him for his goal against Blackburn last day of 94/95 season and his goal against Man Utd at the Kop that same season. maybe not England captain but Jones would have made Gary Neville warm the England bench for sure. Lee Jones may not be remembered too well but Sean Dundee and Jean Michel Ferri take the medal for most forgettable players i think |

Rafael Benitez today confirmed Daniel Agger is close to agreeing a new contract at Anfield.
The Danish defender's future has been the subject of speculation for many months, but a deal is now close which will ensure the 24-year-old commits his future to the Reds. "It is very close," confirmed Benitez today. "We are just waiting on the small details but it is nearly done. We have to wait a little bit longer but we are very close. "He is very happy here and I have always supported him. Hopefully it will be done." Benitez also brushed off speculation in this morning's newspapers linking Javier Mascherano with a move away from the club. "I was talking with Javier earlier and everything is okay," he added. "He is really pleased here because he knows the fans love him. He can't avoid big clubs asking about him because he is a top class player, but he is very happy here." Meanwhile, Steven Gerrard has overcome a groin strain and will be available for this weekend's clash with Newcastle United at Anfield. Good news ! |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
I was reading Soccernet two days ago and they mentioned that we will need to sell before we can buy. Well, what's the big deal? Most clubs do use the funds garnered from selling players to buy new ones. Almost a given.
Who will you like to see being sold and leaving our club? For me, I think Rafa should let Babel, Voronin, Itandje and maybe even Dossena go. Even Pennant's wages can be used to fund a new player. I wonder if Hyypia will be given another season. If we can get a decent right midfielder plus another right back plus another striker, we would be quite a team. The front part of the new away jersey (the neck area) looks a bit floppy. I wonder if it will be comfortable. Black ah... should be quite hot to wear it in the afternoon, even if it's dry fit. Black and gold is classic Adidas. |

Also the never-seen Philipp Degen, perhaps Damien Plessis, and many of the kids, at least to be loaned out again. But don't be surprised that Rafa will pull a fast one and sell someone from the first team, as he tried last season with Alonso. One thing about the gaffer is he will absolutely deal and wheel to get the player he wants.
