Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

although The Reds finally got back 2 winning ways in the league, manc, arsenal, chelsea & spurs all won as well.

6 games with 3 wins, 1 draw, 2 loses & 10 points.
out of a possible 18 pts,they only managed 2 collect 10. (55.6%)

the next games would be veri veri important.
1/10 away vs everton follow by 15/10 @ home vs manu.

In fact our best chances came in the second half after the Wolves goal and we should have regained the 2-goal lead.

Carroll played Ok and showed more desire for the game.

Good to see Stevie looking sharp.

Overall the team is still not quite right. We can play some fascinating football but have a soft underbelly in defence.

But yes the most important point today is getting the 3.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

i think AC played reasonably ok...
linked up well with fellow attackers, worked hard and dropped deep to get the ball, hit the post with a header but sent an earlier free header straight to the keeper...
but our central defense, esp. skrtel looked shaky and we gave away way too many freekicks around the box..
i think adam is as good a tackler as paul scholes..

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Our defence was in jitters after Wolves pulled a goal back. That dreaded feeling of throwing a lead and drawing/losing must have ran thru many bros' minds. Why cant we win convincingly, esp at home?

But positive note to see Captain Marvel back, looking sharp, creating chances and taking shots. The swashbuckling surge in midfield and taking long potshots outside the penalty area.

Suarez was playing well, undoubtedly MOM; kinda disappointed to see him sub (n feeling angry!) n not havin the chance to play alongside SG. Maybe next match! Henderson ought to be dropped and start with Kuyt/SG.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

most impt reds got 3 pts...so in this regard i am happy...but...

defence still looks doddgy n doubtful at times...kelly not gd, skertl reckless n even enrique leaving gaps...

midfield...henderson is really rubbish i know he is wip but still at 18m quid he is rubbish...adam average...downing was ok but wld like to c him shine...saying that lucas now apears to be putting in consistent solid performances...also happy to c SG back...however wif this sort of midfield i really do not know how it can cope agst the likes of manure, city n chelski n even some other top half epl clubs...KD has to fix this problem pronto...

attack...suarez was gd...carroll had a pretty gd n reasonable game, hope he continues to improve...but i wonder why KD did not bring on Bellamy?...also wonder what Kuyt must be thinking...

reds gotta start going on a run now...

It was good to see him linking up defensively but just hope that he will break his duck soon, if not the longer it goes the more it looks like just money down the drain. But still don't understand why KD insist on starting Henderson, I think Kyut would have been a better choice. I hope KD is not relegating Kyut to a perennial role from this point, wouldn't want to see another player that plays with enthusiasm leaves for lack of playing time.

Against the top sides, we will have to play another more defensive midfielder - Adam is not that. So it will either be Stevie or Spearing. Remember in our more assured defensive displays previous seasons, we had 2 defensive mids. Now only Lucas is shielding the defence.

There is plenty of unhappiness with Henderson. I agree he is not up to scratch now cf. others (Kuyt, Maxi, Bellars). But obviously Kenny rates him and is looking at him long-term - when the team is better gelled and Henderson settles in. It's a risk which will only work as long as we get results with Henderson in the side. But hope the lad pulls through.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

IMHO, the players need to shoot accurately...many attempts at goal saw their shots either hit the cross bars or the goal posts with a jarring open goal mouth

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

cannot depend 2 much on SG ..... he is in his 30s.
agree tat a win is a win & The Reds needs winning & of course the points.

although the season is still young, but don't think the early signs of challenging 4 the title is realistic ..... aft dropping 8 points fr a possible 18.

like wat i said, the next games away vs everton(1/10) & @ home vs manu(15/10) would go some way in telling the signs.

Well, the mental strength is still not up there! Look what happened after sunderland's goal! All started to panic and suddenly the passing game was in a mess!my man of the match yesterday, enrigue! Wonder why KD didn't start coate, I thank carragher for his past contribution but its time for him to move on.
