No wonder the players had no fire in them. Probably SG had already told them beforehand that he is leaving. This is really a shame for Liverpool football. I guess there must be some MLS clubs that make an offer a much better one than what FSG had offered him. Thanks SG for being a loyal and faithful servant for Liverpool club. I guess that those on top did not appreciate what you have contributed to the club and team over the years. No matter where you go I am sure many Liverpool fans would wish you and your family well. In all honesty, it is best for Steven and the club if he leaves.
Playing him in a DM role, he becomes a liability and at 34, he does not have the legs to come forward in a AM role due to the fast nature of the Premier League. Unlike Scholes and Lampard, Gerrard will not agree to have a cut in games and spend time in the bench because a Captain is unable to do that. Pierre.

I wonder who will be captain next. Looks like not many capable candidates. Can only think of Henderson. But his form this season has been quite erratic.
