You need to be quite specific on what type of action, as so many to choose from Been so many trips but still haven't finish all my bucket list...

I am actually planning a trip back to Tokyo in July and looking at hotels around Shiodome. Was further out in Tokyo Bay last time out.

Shiodome is probably one of the worst location for quick cheonging as it is equi-distance to the usual suspects.

Walking distance is Ginza, but mostly super high end KTVs for Japanese with corporate expense account. Only been there once when Japanese client had lots of budget left over near end of year.

Slightly further out (3km) is the infamous Roppongi tourist trap. Home to African touts, dodgy bars, some strip clubs, some massage places. Best option for a quick hop but won't be value for money. Important tips - DO NOT stop to talk to any touts, African or otherwise. If you follow them, good luck to your credit card! Best to research where you want to and go straight there.

Up north is Yoshiwara near Ueno. Which you can visit on the way to famous Asakusa temple . Home of the famous soaplands. Note, best to go during daylight hours. Not easily accessible by trains. I usually Uber/taxi from nearby station there.

Farthest out (8km) is geyland-equiv. Kabukicho in Shinjuku. Like Geylang, lots of tourists go to see the famous red light district. As in Roppongi, avoid touts at all cost. Not so much that they bring you to carrot shops but that they show you pretty pictures then bring you to some shit room in dodgy hotel and some girl 20 years older and 20kg heavier come in.

One option I was tempted was going down to GFE Soapland in [Kawasaki]. Minato where Shiodome is, is the nearest central Tokyo area to Kawasaki. Still a long trip, but better than if you are in Shinjuku. Prop similar travel times to going to Yoshiwara.

I came across them advertising in the HK141 forum but they looked expensive so never tried. But likely to have Chinese speaking people for you to book via Line. Most of the “English speakers” the shops hire to take bookings are Chinese… two birds with one stone.
