No good CM player to control the game and distribute the ball. Henderson and Can cmi. New signing Salah is a salah purchased by his 1st half performance... he was worse than headless chicken running around aimlessly.

Mid table team performance.

Henderson is poor and Can is really bad. The midfield is being pushed around.

Mane is now carrying the team and he will be the next to leave. Salah is poor and his touches are disappointing.

Klopp is going to be sacked and before that happens FSG must sell the club. Good signings must be made by spending good money.

I think the team's focus is affected by Coutinho's request to leave. Sell him immediately.

Gutted. I know it's the opening weekend and you shouldn't get carried away, but it's just so difficult not to. We didn't play that well overall, but I genuinely thought we would get away with it and see the game out. We had several chances to get a 4th but could not do so with some wasteful finishing. 

Unfortunately, the main talking point will be defending from set-pieces, or in our case, a lack of defending from set-pieces. The best way would be to stop conceding them in the first place. Gomez was brought on to help shore up the back, but his ill-judged challenge started the passage of play which lead to their corner. Yes the guy was offside, but it shouldn't have got to that stage. Even if VVD joins us, we will still be playing a zonal system, so there's no guarantee we would concede less goals.

I was impressed overall with Trent and Salah. Trent will give Clyne some decent competition for a change and had some good deliveries from our own set-plays, and Salah looks like he will get a few goals, although he should have had at least one more today. 

With a midfield of Can, Hendo and Gini there was a visible lack of creativity in the middle of the park, in particular the first half. To me, that's the type of midfield you need when you want to stifle the opposition and close out the game, not to try and win from the start - although as mentioned earlier, we nearly got away with it.

2 points dropped and I am now wondering what's going to happen in Germany early next week.

(1) Acquisition of new and maybe capable players (very bad handling of buying players, so far)
(2) Number of sick chickens (as usual, that Stud who is always injured)
