We now have TG, SQ, CX, the european airlines, ValuAir, TigerAir, AirAsia, etc., so there are bound to be promotional fares which not all bros would be aware of at any one time. This would be a good place to drop in when you are planning a trip up north.

As for the hotels, it seems using internet sites may not necessarily be the best way to make room reservations, so the more well connected bros may wish to share their lobangs so that we are all better informed to make better choices as a result.

Cheers.

To get the cheapest fare on any airlines, you have to know the following things:
1. Most of these fares are not available on weekends and public holidays, so plan to fly on weekdays
2.Best chance to get advertised cheap fare is if you travel midweek
3.Usually morning flights are more expensive than evening or night flights except Sunday(or last day of long weekend) evening flights
4.Try to buy tickets as early as possible
5. When there is a sale, read the fine prints at the bottom of the ad where they tell you about rules/restrictions for this particular sale

Hope it helps.
So are there any pitfalls to watchout for in this latest Tiger Air special deal?

If you wanna enjoy long vesak day weekend there, you have to fly out on wednesday or thursday. I got the deal flying out on 19th and coming back on 23rd May. Same goes for other weekend flight, can't get the deal if you fly out on Friday.

For hotel reservations in Thailand, it seems like the following is pretty decent and reliable from what I can tell from the rest of the bros' posts both here and in other threads. I'll try using them the next time I go to Thailand and report back my experiences. Cheers.

I did the same as you, fly out and in on weekdays. Like you, I also got the same awesome price as you, a grand total of SGD106.96 all inclusive for the return airfare on Tiger Airways.

I've also booked and gotten confirmation for the Pallazo Hotel at the rate of 1,050B per night for a double room. This I got from thaihoteldiscount.com. FYI.

Internet reservations on both Tiger Airways as well as thaihoteldiscount.com was easy and fuss free. The confirmations came through efficiently enough as well. I'd recommend both sites to bros.

Cheers.

Palazzo is next to Emerald Hotel which is along the main road called Rachadapisek. It has Mirage MP next to it a little further into the soi and if you walk out onto the main road, you will have Nataree, Emmanuelle and Hi-Class all within a 5-min walking radius. If you like seafood, there's a seafood joint further down the road (I forgot the name, but you can't miss it along the main road). I actually think this place is nothing to shout about but some of the bros here frequent it anyway. The subway station is within walking distance, and that should aid you tremendously in your mobility, especially during the rush hours. I've only stayed in the Palazzo a couple of times and I vaguely remember it having mosquitoes, even in the rooms, which was why I've not gone back since. But, since now it is available at such good rates, I thought what the heck, maybe they've solved the mosquito problem by now. Hope I've been of some help.

Re: Special/Promotional Airfare/Hotel Deals to Thailand

what is the baht exch rate nowadays? planning for a short trip to bkk perhaps during the summer. havent been there for more than 10 yrs and with so many airlines flying there, it should be fun.

lets say i want to stay for 2-3 nights, plus airfare, plus couple of bathing sessions at the MP, how much will it cost normally? any experienced bro can estimate?

i have heard abt posseidon and emanuelle...what are their rates?

thanks

chris
