A good game, in which Everton played quite well...looking at the way they scored their goal.

A well-timed header by VVD gave Liverpool the winning goal and a fantastic start of his debut for Liverpool. Looks like he has the "muscles" and height to be a good defender.

Emre Can is lousy in this game, so let him go lah

VVD looked impressive and also showed authority at the back which has been sorely lacking since Carragher retired.

Coutinho's heart is at Camp Nou so let him go at the the price we want plus get an adequate replacement.

excellent debut by VVD and scoring the winning goal, that's not often you see for a defender.

pool had many missed chances and could have scored 2-3 more.

one game settled and next gunning for man city for their 1st defeat of the season.

I hardly say this but our defense was good.
Van Dijk was calm and kept communicating with the players around him.
Small problem with right back but Gomez will learn as he is still inexperience.
We need a quality goalkeeper and someone who can change the game.
Everton sat deep and waited which is the same style many teams adopt at Anfield.

Hahahah....first game only and the fans reacted like pool has won the cup!

Big Sam is still tactically better than klopp! Think he can manage pool quite well if given a chance!

This Colgate fella from Everton should have gotten a straight red card for shoving Firmino to the advertising board into the stands. Firmino could have been seriously injured. Not even a yellow card. At least the ref redeemed himself by giving the reds a soft penalty.

My Motm goes to Robertson, not match-winner VVD on his dream debut.
Too bad Klopp's No 1 godson Moreno is coming back from his injury soon.

As for Can, his failure to get back on Everton's goal shows why he won't be missed by anyone. The Reds extended their unbeaten run in the Merseyside derby to a club-record 16 matches. So sweet. The 16-match stretch is one better than Liverpool's previous best unbeaten run against Everton, which ran from 1972 to 1978.

Can confirmed joining Juventus end of season.

Klopp should put Can to train and play with the Reserve team now that his heart is no longer with Liverpool.... and Klopp has an excess of midfielders to choose from.
