yes...tour agencies, hotel operators, retailers, restaurants, etc benefit a lot. but, directly or indirectly, so does the common man. the same tour agencies, hotels, retail stores, restaurants will be able to continue to retain it's current employees or even hire more help due to the revenues earned from mainland tourists. without these tourist dollars/yuans, the common man can forget about having a even a stagnant wage, since he might not even be able to retain his job.

My sister flies very often to HK for concerts and often travel there empty handed and return with a large bulging luggage of clothes.

I always say that a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing; ask any taxi drivers in just about any city about anything and he will have a strident and intractable opinion on the subject matter.

And that is what I think when I am in any discussions and would always tone myself down. After all, do I really know everything with what is being discussed? And in the case of the governance of Hong Kong - I hardly have any powers or even the slightest bit of influence to sway things one way or the other!

Now.... on the other hand....we are ALL experts about OUR OWN likes and dislikes - especially when it comes to our sexuality; it is OUR OWN sexuality - right?

LOL! Depends on your definition of a "local" hong kong!

As far as the Immigration department/HKG laws is concerned, anybody possessing of a permanent HK Identity card with the words "The holder f this card has the right of abode in Hong Kong" - is to be considered local.

But a lot of these girls with such HKID card - especially the 141 walk-up gals - are relatively new arrivals in Hong Kong, mstly from China.
And also, there really is not that many "genuine" local girls on the market these days - Hong Kong is just too rich for too many regular and genuine HK girls to have to consider selling their bodies to get by. The very few who sometimes do appear on sex141 all want extra high prices for their services and in most cases, you will not even see who you're "buying" except that she's supposed to be a genuine local HKG girl.

Yes, many many HOng Kong mongers prefer to do their serious mongering in Chang Ping for like it or not, the quantity, quality and lower pricing is there. Plus of course it's more discrete to do such out of town.

A lot of us just partake of our local "facilities" when pressed for time etc.
