As a newbie in Pattaya, you folks won't have any problems in having fun. For gogos just go to walking street, Super Baby has the best looking girls! But just go to all the go gos on Walking and side streets. Just remember, Pattaya is lot cheaper than Bangkok and they tend to have more ladyboys. Just don't pickup any ladies from the beach road. Also, go to Soi 6, they have wild and crazy girls for your entertaintment! If you catch bhat bus, just paid them 10B and be careful when you catch bhat bus after hours!

Coconut Bar alwayz a risk... furthermore itz dark and u dunno wat u may pick up until is too late. Last November when I was there some katoeys beat up & robbed a tourist there. Katoeys also have their own bar at Soi 6 infamous for its short time bars... always mistaken me for Jap. Fun buggers they r but I juz dun get 2 cozy with them. After hours song-taews (aka baht bus)? Usually when the bars close at 2am only motorsi's are operating. BTW 1st time Pattaya bros... Pattaya doesn't have your regular 4 wheel taxi like Bangkok. Either songteaws or motorcycle taxis. Damn motorsi costs more then in BKK. Short distance already charging Bht60.

That's why I don't like to party at Pattaya, it's not worth it even though it's lot cheaper than Bangkok! Even though I'm not an angel, Pattaya is too sleazy for me! I have several friends living in Pattaya but Bangkok is my kind of town!

I've had several incidents, where ladyboys on mopeds wants to pick me up for short time, man becareful of aggressive ladyboys!

regular baht bus run 24hrs but maybe less after 2am coz less customers.

Thats why its more my knid of town ; anythng can happen. But its less wild now coz more people = more customers = more money = more regulation.

There's so much money at stake now , the local mafia (or govt ; no diff!) wont let things go too much out of control.

10-20 years ago , you can still find specialty shops opening in strange places. Now Soi Baukow is still spreading (especially Soi Diana area) but you wont find gem of a shop in further and obscure areas.

I think this is a overstated and newbies should not be stressed about Pattaya. Me (and plenty of other people I know) never had problems there and enjoy quite cool and relaxing holidays there. Of course problems MAY happen as anywhere, but not more in Pat than elsewhere.

Kataoe: should be no problem as long as you respect them. Most people who had problems with them were stupid farangs who don't understand that. They want to pick you up, so what! Just remain patient and polite.

Beach Road:the girl's selection has improved recently (and for 500 THB!). Just take time to talk a bit before picking up a girl. Of course, lock your valuables, but this you should do with ANY girl, not just from Beach Road.

Bath Bus: In Pat I usually stay at Jomtien beach and take the bathbus to go to Walking street or soy 7/8 for 10 bath. I never had problems up to 5am to get one (when it's late you need sometimes to wait a bit more).

One more advice for newbies: NEVER TELL GIRLS YOU ARE A NEWBIE! They will try to overcharge you. Tell them you've been there last year with your farang friends

Stupid falangs want to disturb them but when the tables are turned , they cant take it and claim the LB harrass them. If they really start to chase you , just avoid eye contact and walk away. Avoid letting them grab you coz your wallet will be at risk but then you shouldn't be bringing out your wallet anyway!

Same here. I will head for Patts if time permits, because it is not just about the price, but the fact that I can relax more during the day, and cheong more during the night. And of course, we are looking at a much bigger range of puyings, as compared to BKK.

That's my two cents worth, but last word is... as long as it's LOS, i love it!

My understanding is that 28 February is Makha Bucha Day and night spots at Bangkok most likely to be closed. How abt those in Pattaya? Cos trying to decide my coming Bangkok trip to be in Bangkok or Pattaya. Thanks for any valuable feedback!

Err... There's even a Substitution for Makha Bucha Day on 1 March, does it mean 2 days of close down??
