Yoyogi is a few hundred meters from Shinjuku station, but before Shibuya you have Harajuki station which is about halfway, so I would not call it that near.

I of course can't speak for anyone, but I think many people don't worry the same over a DVD or Sniper Eve Magazins. In reality they are actually hard to find unless you know where to look.

一期一会, I'm sorry, I did not mean any disrespect, and yes distance is always relative and subjective. While I have a basic understanding of how to get around in Tokyo, in reality I get lost quite easily. It's probably because of this I felt a need to point out that while Yoyoji station is in Shibuya-ku, it's 3.8km from Shibuya station and 0.4km from Shinjuku Station.

There are few options, the most obvious is of course while visiting Japan.
Adult stores in Tokyo are often located next to Yamanote train stations. Can be hard to find, don't expect signs. :-(

An alternative is Amazon.co.jp, which have a surprisingly rich selection, but don't ship overseas. They do offer to ship to convenience store pickup, which makes it easy to purchase it ahead of your trip, so that pickup is easy even if your just visiting Tokyo for a few days.

There are plenty of japanese online stores, but most don't allow overseas credit cards.
Mistress Land is one that do, but they are a membership site which uses a tier system, so you need to be both member and premium member to get access to the newer content. There might be more layers in this onion though, I gave up after a few attempt while giving it a go a few years back. YMMV very limited English pages.
