New Berry and Indah2 is no longer around tho (merged with Permata Indah). Permata Indah KTV currently has the most number of girls.

New booking joints that started after i have stepped into Batam since 3 odd years ago :

Sg has 3 Telco provider w respective webbies. U may wish to check them out since I dn't knw wich sg sim u using or plan 2 use.

M1 has a data passport or smthg I heard, whereby u can use yr data & call time in certain asia country @ the same sg rate or wat is remains in yr sim.

Agn,brother...like yr 1st qn, yr second qn is rather general. Look at below is btm map pix...imagine u arrive @ Loc A, & I 'point' u 2 Loc B has a good money exchanger. I no tink it'd b clever of u 2 follow my advise 2 go chng yr money tere, rite?



My humble suggestion is 4 u 2 read the basics starting frm page 1 or sm of nono1973's signature link. Then u'd be all good 2 ask the rite qns.

Btm sure can get better rates than in sg.

SIM cards... better to get local ones. Cheaper calling rates. A singapore SIM card will work too. But very ex.


Money changer? X change rates at most Malls are good, exception are at the ferry terminals.

If you use M1 prepaid card, you can use it's data in Batam just like local data. No roaming data charge. Just make sure that you connect to XL. By default, if you set auto, it will connect to Indosat.

No idea whether you guys know or not, sometime exchange rate in the bank is better than money change. BCA Bank or Panin Bank. It's easy to find BCA Bank since it has quite few branches around nagoya area. The drawback is that gotta que lor. Why the bank exchange rate is sometime better than money change? Because at the end of the closing margin day, those money change still have to go to the bank to exchange the notes what? Then of course, if you are looking to exchange during the weekend, rate isn't competitive, likewise the money change counters. Exchange rate on the weekend is definitely consumers loses. B'cos the local money change wants a safety in case of hyper up-down trend changes on the next week market. Then they will suffer loses. So better change your $$$ before the weekend.
