Yo bros,

any idea how these pubs and Viet pros came about and settled at Joo Chiat in the first place? Went there last week and boy are some of them really good looking. Is it safe to pick them up? Police raids?

it's a paradox.

On one hand, the govt gave all the licences for the pubs in this area.

and yet when all the viets flock to work here, they raid the place almost daily.

Maybe they were thinking Joo Chiat becum the next Clark or Boat Quay when they gave the licenses

thanks for your answers bro. Appreciate your time! Nope, not doing any study or anything. I'm just fascinated by how prostitution springs up in Singapore. Cos for the most part it has largely been restricted to the few RLDs like Geylang or Orchard Towers. In recent years however, it has been oozing out into the heartland areas like Joo Chiat and Duxton. Any takes on why this is happening? Or why these areas in particular areas?

Though I must say I can't complain cos more avenues for us! Haha.

This week i also heard that cops go to hse in GL area to arrest some gals after they finished work around 2am+..... By the way, they cannot stay in HDB, Apartment, etc, if they come as social visiting permit.... thats what i read from the HDB rules... maybe other bros can correct me on this.

Still crowded but not as crowded as before.

The crowd is less now and can be a gd thing as the AV will come less often when there is less crowd. Heard the pub liscense will not be renewed so i think we better treasure and enjoy the remaining time of cheonging here.
