That afternoon I left Jasmine a voicemail, telling her that I will meet them for a short while tomorrow, but I still considering about the tutoring session.

I rested at home that day thinking about my next step, I seems to me that it has become a game to me, a game I will never want to lose.

That night I paged Jane, It seemed to become a habit for me to talk to her at night.

Jane: Yang, you look for me?

Me: No lor, I still looking for the person that give you my number.

Jane: U still need to know meh, maybe some day I will tell you.

Yes, I started to flirt with Jane on the phone, I had taken some interest in her and It was obvious I wanted to know who she was. We spoke for another hour and there was a increase of tease and flirtatious details.

I went to bed soon after, but was woken up by my father. He told me there was a phone call for me, I woke up dreamy and pick up the call.

It was Christina, she told me sorry that she did not call last week as she was busy last week. She was excited, and was telling me about her visiting the schools, and her new home in US. To be honest, half the time I did not really listen to what she was saying. but manage to hold on till she puts down the phone. I looked at clock to realise it was already 430am. I had really forgotten about Christina's weekly calls.

Few hours later I woke up again, I kept yawning, as my Dad questioned me on who was the girl that called me at 330am. I told him that is was a friend that went to US hence the time difference, I did not bother explaining much and prepared for school. I was late again today, but she was still there, the girl at the bus stop.

I went up to her: Hi.

She smiled: Hi.

Of all things my bus had to come at this moment, all I could do was to say good bye and board my bus looking and slightly waving to her when I got seated.

At school all was normal, Basketball morning assembly and class, I joined Ah Keong and gang for their smoke break that was when Ah Keong came to chat with me.

Keong: He keep finding trouble outside nowadays, I know he want to Pak Mia Sia (build his reputation lah), but not like that lah.

Keong: I warn him already, but his reason a lot, you got talk to him lah. Bo pian(no choice) I have to Gai Gwat (settle) him.

I spoke to Ah Kai later and he was upset as he feel he was walking the path of the Fighter, I told him to slow down but he told me I do not know how it works as I was not in a gang. He soon change the topic to his tattoo again, and asked me to help him choose between a dragon or a barb wire design around his arm. I chose the Dragon which he agree saying it look "more fierce".

He had a small chat and he was somehow stammering, but finally he asked the golden question.

Kai: Yang, got money bo? Zong (pass) a bit leh I need for my tattoo.

Me: how much you need? (in my mind was knn Ai saat bo lui, no money want to put tattoo?)

Kai: $30 enough, The rest I have.

Me: ok tomorrow I pass to you.

We went out via the hole in the fence again, and I pass the money to him after drawing it from the ATM. Not knowing what I did was right or wrong. but after all he was my brother.

After School that day I left Jasmine a voicemail to meet at Bishan MRT, they were not at the station when I reached. Sitting on the side of the station waiting for them, I saw Felicia and she walked towards me.

Felicia: I can feel where you are one lah, hee hee, no lah, Jasmine tell me.

Me: So you girls no issues already (trying to dig for info)

Felicia: we talk yesterday, then ok leh

Felicia was about to tell me more but Jasmine and Ann arrived.

This was the first time I see Jasmine behaving awkwardly, talking to me in a soft tone asking me why I wanted to meet them.

I opened my bag and took out the book that her father bought for me, I wanted to pass it to Jasmine but she quickly move her hands behind asking me what I wanted to do.

Me: I cannot read this, might as well return to you all, and I don't want to see this book.

Jasmine and me , we were turning in circles as I was trying to pass her the book and she was avoiding me. Soon I passed Ann the book and walked away, lifting head up high with a confident smile.

Jasmine: Lawrence, you come back right now!!!! (other students were looking at Jasmine as she shouted)

I did not care and walked straight home.
