i expect henry to curl another 50 goals or more into the net before he hangs up his shorts. as for owen, his weapon is his speed, if he doesnt lose his pace when back from injury, he will bring back the good days to newcastle next season. |

Personally I think he's pretty good with the kicks and runs. Definately he'll be a better buy than Robo C. Other than the club's notable rivalry with us, I think johnson's on the potential improvement level Quote:
Haha yup, most strikers are workhorses for that certain season, then usually back to their dry spells the next. Shearer's record was a goal every 1.97 games. He scored something like 400 over goals for club and country. That's an impressive record that's hard to beat. Maybe someday.... |

I suppose you mean by Robo, Crouch. If that's the case, I respectfully disagree. Crouch is a more rounded team player other than the fact he will always head the ball straight into the arms of the goalie. |

Andy Cole? He was at one time criticised for needing several chances to put one away. Henry? At another time Wenger was talking about the need for a fox in the box (then he went on to buy Francis Jeffers). Owen is the finisher par none. He is eighth despite his age, injuries and spell at Real. Sadly I don't fancy his chances of catching up with Shearer. |

This is what i hope too... i always thot it was silly for us to lose Fowler and Owen... bad enough to foreign teams... but absoloutely terrible when Owen signed for the toons...

Well... just look at the stats.. he is a 'dependable' contributor of goals... that's what being a striker is all about... |

I think strikers like Andy Johnson is a good player for teams like Everton... or other less established teams. He would not do well in First Tier teams like Liverpool, ManU, Arsenal ...

I feel that its not so much of his headed power and technique that is the problem - although there is definite room for improvement - but his placement. The positions for heading he takes up are so good that he doesn't need to power it as long as he doesn't just head it into the arms of the keeper. He cannot jump much but he can touch the ball (not for finishing but to pass the ball) without jumping. If you look at the opposition defenders many of them preffer to let him touch the ball and are aware of the second chance, rather than jump with Crouch to win the challenge. That's an asset for the team |

Actually if there's anyone i want back/in Pool, it's Garcia. Unfortunately we expect to be without him for six months He's currently the second best scorer in the squad, and he's not a striker. His goals are not fluke, as he regularly manages to score them every season. Physically, he was in a good form, and when he started on the left he ran a lot and he was roaming between lines, changing from one wing to another... His overall contribution is to make the oposition defence mad! It's tough to mark him individually and he's the kind of player that can make a zonal defence ridiculous! He scores, he passes, he runs. Yeah, he gives away balls, but not as much as he used to. That's one man i'll miss |

Garcia is a player I dunno to love or hate.. HAHAHA... When he is good, he is real good! But when his tricks and flicks dun work, you feel like killing him... But I do know is he is more often than not, our big match winner!

Not to forget he is the best header of the ball in the team. 17 appearances, 6 goals, 6 assists. We're going to miss him, that's his stats for just this season. The guy's scored over 30 goals in two and a half seasons, playing in midfield and not always a regular starter. That's fantastic whatever way you look like it. To be honest I think he's been under-used this season. |

Haha yup bro. He always seems to score the odd goal just at the right time. He's definitely a large contributor to the team, especially in the Champions League and at Home! |

Never mind his passing! Yes he does loose the ball a lot. In his defence some may argue that he is a very intelligent footballer and some players find it hard to read his audacious style... hence passes go missing lol... But he will be a MAJOR loss in the Champions League for us... He is our 3rd biggest shooter behind kuyt and gerrard and our 2nd best dribbler, scores crackers in the champ league , brill at home so he'll be missed in those games. Hope he has a speedy and full recovery... |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Wenger: I may have to prioritise competitions
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits he may soon have to prioritise which competitions are most important for the Gunners this season. The Gunners face a fixture congestion following Sunday's 1-1 draw with Bolton in the FA Cup fourth round. Brazilian Julio Baptista was the latest player to pick up an injury, with his groin problem now making the attacker a doubt for Wednesday night's Carling Cup semi-final second leg against Tottenham. Arsenal must go to the Reebok Stadium for a replay on February 14 - a date already earmarked for a rearranged home Premiership clash with Manchester City. With the Champions League campaign also set to resume next month, Wenger accepts he may have to soon weigh up his feelings about the domestic knockout competitions. 'I will see when we play and which players I will use, because at the moment it is important not to lose too many players,' said Wenger. 'First of all you want your good players to be with you and we do have important games coming up. 'If we continue to lose players, I will have to choose what we go for.' With leading scorer Robin van Persie already out with a potentially season-ending injury the rest of the season and several other first-choice players struggling, Wenger admits he cannot afford to see his squad depleted further. Hmmm ... why they always copycat??
