School security guard held to help in molest case
BALING: A security guard at a primary school in Kuala Ketil near here was detained to help investigations in a molest case involving a 10-year-old student.
Baling District acting police chief ASP Md Nadzir Osman said police had detained the 48-year-old security guard after a report was lodged by the pupil's next-of-kin, yesterday.
He said the man was detained at 9.30pm yesterday after the pupil and her next-of-kin lodged a police report. "The pupil claimed she was molested when she was in class after being sent by her father at 6.30am yesterday," he said here today.
Md Nadzir said the girl was alone in the classroom at that time because she had been early and the guard took the opportunity to molest the pupil.
He said the man allegedly embraced the pupil, kissed her and fondled her private parts.
Md Nadzir said police remanded the man for three days. -- BERNAMA
