Need Advice About Travelling Whilst I Have A Warrant For Arrest

Hi,

I know this is the wrong section to post this in, but I can't seem to post in the "coffeeshop talk" section, I dunno why. Anyway, I reckon this section gets more eyeballs.

Hoping some bros here can help me answer a question: I have a warrant out for me due to an unpaid traffic offence, i.e.: running a red light. Many reasons for this, but long story short, I now need to travel for work.

My question is: will they arrest me at the checkpoint just for a traffic offence? Also, I changed my legal name (for what some might think are superstitious reasons). Will they track me by my IC/ passport number, or by name?

Any bros out there that have experienced this problem before? Thanks in advance for any good answers.

Since u r under warrant of arrest, I don't think u r free from leaving the country. U can change ur name but ur IC number stays with u so do go n settle ur fine ASAP if u intend to work overseas. There is nothing u can do unless u clear ur 'debts' to our 'clever' government

first time i heard of a traffic offence beating a traffic light got a warrant arrest. hello the law says beating a traffic light fined $200 and 12 points Demerit points.

you dont need to resort to changing of your name to avoid paying the offence.

He didn't pay the fine and it compounded.

If u sure kena warrant of arrest, u need a guarantor to go with you to cantoment police hq to bail immediately after u surrender there. After the police set a hearing date for court mention, U need to bring the mention slip together with your guarantor to state court to ask for permission to travel. U can call cantoment waﹰrant arrest ection to ask advice. This is wat my friend did.

I kenna stopped from leaving the country for work while under investigation for not notifying for overseas travel and not paying the compounded fine. I was already claiming summary trial to the charges and trial date was after my travel.

Normally traffic offense aren't a big of a deal. I have friends who totally forgot about the fines and didn't pay for almost a year. Within the year I'm pretty sure he left the country for holiday or at the least to JB.
When he finally found out that the fine got snowballed and he needed to appear in court, he just need be where he need to be (court).
If you're absent for court hearing I think that's when shit gets real.

Changing your name is not going to help you get away with this. If changing your name helped you evade a warrant for arrest for unpaid traffic fines, maybe also for more serious crimes? I think not. You should just accept that you can't evade the law without breaking more serious laws. Turn yourself in and accept the consequences.

I kena warrant of arrest b4 for forgetting abt a littering fine. ciggy butts as usual...
Forgot it for almost 2 years. they nvr send me letter nth untill suddenly one fine day saw the 'gov letter' in my mail box.
i almost jumped outta my seat. next day immediately went down to cantonment to settle. They told just go NEA building pay the fine then settle. No court date etc needed.
U gt warrant of arrest for traffic fine u just fast hand fast leg go report cantonment if they tell u pay fine can already then faster go settle then no problem.
Don't keep hold untill need court then super troublesome.
Also, you might be held at custom trying to go overseas. (Lagi more troublesome if pay ticket etc then cannot fly...)
Name change or not, your IC is tagged to you 'for life'.

If i were u i just go clear it unless u are drivinf without a lic or driving while on suspend.

I was summon to court for failure to furnish driver detail and ignore summon. 6 mths later couet letter came..... i call TP met the officer told her my grandpa story that i got fax my detail over but forgotten to clear summon. Was sent oversea to work... show them passports blab blab blab.....

4 points plus $250. WIth warning offend speeding

Don't be silly and insist on going to court. Just pay the fine and go on with your life. Don't try and beat the system cause sure as hell the system is smarter than you.

TS, best you just go down to cantoment station and check with the officer there on the fine. likely it a fine plus some late penalty etc. ICA & SPF system interlink, so if you leave country, you will be charged once you got back.

As for the other samster asking for checking warrant, i presume you mean traffic offence. Go TP website, there a link for you to check if you have any traffic offence.
